Antique Marlin Model 1892 Lever Action Rifle
In 25-36 Marlin Cartridge
Here we present an antique Marlin Model 1892 Lever Action .22 Rifle, made in 1898 in New Haven, Connecticut. The top of the receiver is marked “MARLIN SAFETY”. The barrel is marked “MARLIN FIRE-ARMS CO. NEW-HAVEN CT USA”, followed by patent information. The tang of the receiver is marked “MODEL 1892”.
Overall condition is good. The metal surfaces have a uniform dark patina. The markings are clear and legible. The walnut butt stock is cracked in half vertically and fastened together with small nails. The butt plate is modified at the top (see photos). Bore is dark and nearly smooth. The action is not functional as this piece is missing its mainspring.
