Lion Head IMPERIAL German Officer’s Sword
WWI-era Heer Sword with Etched Blade
Here we present an antique Imperial German Lion Head Army Officer’s Sword, made in Germany circa the early 1900s. This specimen represents the design of the Heer, the German Army. Perhaps the most eye-catching feature of this sword is the lion head pommel with eyes made of red gems. About 50% of the each side of the blade is nicely etched. The metal scabbard is in very good condition, having wear from obvious carry. The sword itself is in fine condition.
