Description:

Very Nice ANTIQUE INDIAN Tulwar/Talwar Sword

Saber with Mughal History

Here we present an antique Tulwar Sword, made circa the 18th Century in the Mughal Empire. Several different but similar swords were developed contemporaneously by several different groups, including the Turks and Persians, as early as the 1300s. The type saw use for centuries, especially during the reign of the Mughals.

This Tulwar features a short hilt with a generous palm swell and grooves for grip. The pommel is a disc shape with decorative designs. The cross guard is quite sturdy, with a knuckle bow on the leading edge. The blade has a double fuller. Construction is entirely of iron. Condition is very good. Iron has a light brown patina. Fit is solid. The edge is still fairly sharp with signs of use. This is a great example of a sword with a great amount of history!

Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.

Blade is 26-1/8 inches in length.

Overall condition as seen in photos.
