Description:
We are offering for sale a scarce Smith & Wesson Model 1891 FIRST MODEL Single Shot Target Pistol chambered in .22LR caliber. The 1891 were manufacured from 1893-1905 with only 860 being chambered in .22LR caliber. This is a 10” example and remains in very good, highly collectible condition.
10” barrel is very good with some spotty blue loss to either side of muzzle. Bore remains clean with very minor wear; Strong rifling. Pinned front blade sight; adjustable rear notch. I could not find a serial on the barrel but it is original to the gun; The release latch shows matching serial number to font grip strap. Frame is very good retaining the majority of original bluing with scattered freckling present. Front grip strap worn. Case hardened hammer. Single action works flawlessly. Original hard rubber grips excellent without much wear. Gun comes with period correct unmarked leather holster in very good condition.
