Description:
SOLD Pending Funds: Colt 1911 "Black Army" U.S. military WWI pistol. This is in .45 ACP caliber with a 5" barrel. It was manufactured in 1918 and is in all original condition. It is rated at 85% condition and has an excellent bore with correctly functioning mechanics. It has some parts turning a brown patina intermixed with blue. The barrel is correct with the vertical HP on the barrel hood (Francis L. Hosmer Inspector). The Army inspectors mark of an Eagles head with S16 underneath is correct on the left side of the receiver. The top of the receiver is marked with a "G" (Production order) "H" ordanance inspectors mark. All the parts are correct for this WWI vintage 1911. The double diamond grips are in excellent condition with the right grip showing some flattening of the checkering. The WWI leather holster is also in excellent condition and was manufactured by Warren Leather Goods Co. in 1918. A great WWI Rig addition to any collection.
