Description:
“Ohio” Style Percussion Long Rifle circa 1840’s, 37 ½” octagonal barrel, .42 caliber rifled bore on full length maple stock with raised cheek piece, top of barrel marked “C.B.W.”, (unidentified maker). Back action lock marked “Joseph Golcher” inside banner with scroll engraving, equipped with double set triggers functioning correctly. Brass furniture with hand rest triggerguard with engraved cap box surrounded with inlays & curved brass buttplate. Hardwood brass tip ramrod is stamped “U.S”. Very good condition overall with metal showing a nice patina with crisp markings on lockplate & barrel. The stock is very good with a small crack on underside above trigger plate.
