European Antique VELODOG Style Pocket Revolver
Folding Trigger Pocket Revolver in 5.5mm
Here we present a Velodog-style Revolver, made circa 1898 in Liege, Belgium. The Velodog was a French design by Charles-François Galand specifically made for carry by cyclists to defend themselves against dogs. In fact, the name “Velodog” combines the word “Velocipede” with “Dog”, which is quite interesting. It was copied & produced all over Europe into the beginning of the 20th Century for the purpose of self-defense.
It features a small size, and folding trigger. This one has an exposed hammer. Liege proof marks are located on the right sight of the frame and on the cylinder.
Overall condition is good. Original blue remains inside the cylinder flutes. The markings are clear and legible. The grips are in good condition. The bore is dark. The action is intermittent.
This firearm is classified as an antique.
