AMERICAN PERCUSSION SPORTING RIFLE BY "S.E. BILLS" .45 caliber, 35" heavy octagon barrel signed S.E. BILLS with provision for a false muzzle. Bar action lock (not marked), walnut half stock with keyed forend and an escutcheon in left buttplate also marked "S.E. BILLS". Brass triggerguard and buttplate. The barrel retains most of the original brown finish, the lock showing mottled case colors. Good bright bore. Excellent wood and varnish. Very handsome high condition rifle.
