#4064 DUPONT & FORIR SxS Double Barrel Massive 8 Gauge Shotgun
This is a DUPONT & FORIO SXS double barrel shotgun and is a Massive 8 gauge Beast that weighs in at whopping 13.9 pounds. The barrels measure just under 31" and have been refinished as that was a common practice for retailers in Europe at that time. The rest of the shotgun has not been touched but is original condition. The frame, take down lever, side lock plates and trigger guard and top tang retain over 83% original case colors. The walnut wood stock has sharp checkering. This is serial number 254 and is all matching numbers. The mechanical function is crisp and tight. The lock up is like new condition. The bore is excellent, bright and shiny with only the slightest hint of corrosion. This was made between 1868 and 1869.
