Description:
Up for sale today is a US Springfield Model 1842 Musket dated 1852 and of .69 caliber. This smoothbore musket’s production predates the American War of Northern Aggression and shows evidence of plenty of wartime service. The musket’s stock is in excellent condition, and the barrel shows an honest patina. The lock still works, and the bore is in very good condition. The musket could possibly have seen Confederate service. An excellent piece of Civil War history recently found in an estate outside of Gettysburg, this musket will be a fine addition to any collection.
