Description:
SOLD ** Beretta Model SO5EELL, 12 ga., 28”bls., Hand Detachable Sidelocks, Briley Chokes, Master Engraver, As NEW

P.Beretta Model SO5EELL, Sidelock Ejector, 12 gauge with 28” ventilated rib Boehler Antinit Steel barrels, with 5 Briley Thinwall chokes, 2 ¾” chambers, single selective trigger (gold with a checkered face), game forend. pistol grip stock, hand detachable sidelocks, pierced top lever, gold crown on the top lever, jeweled forend iron on the inside and the barrel sides.

Until the SO9 made its debut in 1990, the SO5EELL was the flagship sidelock over/under representing Beretta’s absolute finest craftsmanship. With full coverage deep relief acanthus scroll engraving by the master engraver “Foli” and signed as such, this SO5EELL is a fabulous piece in perfect condition throughout. Although built in 1969, it is as new. With its EELL exhibition quality wood, is a magnificent example of the highest grade Beretta -- a Best Gun.

Richard Rawlingson, Fieldsports writer, claimed the Beretta SO to be one of the most influential guns of the 2oth Century. “The best competition shooters in the world choose the best shotguns in the world: and with five gold medals in five different Olympics and countless awards in prestigious international competitions, champions consider the SO5 over-and-under the finest competition shotgun ever made. A premium gun in every respect, the SO5 is a sidelock shotgun optimized for bringing clay shooters to the podium.” At my own range, last year’s trap champion told me “the only competitor he was worried about was the one who pulled out his Beretta SO5.”

Features:
It has exceptional wood with excellent color and contrast of deep brown and black colors with exhibition-grade figure, finished with a hand-rubbed oil finish.  The EELL engraving is 100% coverage done masterfully in a heavy bouquet/ floral design with intertwined vines. This piece has 8 retainer screws, including the replaceable locking shoulders on the barrel, which secure key screws on the frame and forend iron.

The EELL Turkish walnut is highly figured to the point of “breath-taking,” with field forend, Prince-of-Wales pistol grip with horn grip cap, and perfectly executed hand checkering in point patterns on the pistol grip and in a generous full wrap-around pattern on the forend (checkeing is 26 lpi).  Dimensions are LOP 14 7/16” to brown leather recoil pad; DOC 1 ½” and DOH 2 ¼” and its weight is 7 lbs 7 oz. Neutral stock for the right or left hand. Both “SO5” and the serial number, 35383, are marked on the barrel block and the water table and the serial number is inscribed again on the trigger tang.

Condition:
As New, the original wood finish remains at 100% condition, the checkering remains at 100% with diamonds sharp to the touch, the original barrel blue is still at 99%. The trigger guard and tang still have 100% blue. The bores remain new as they were when made. This gun appears as if it has never been in the field or on the range as it looks new inside and out. Comes with Berettta leather case.

The Thirty-Fourth Edition of the Blue Book of Gun Values shows the current MSRP for this gun is $37,500.
