HOPKINS & ALLEN .38 CALIBUR XL 5 SPUR TRIGGER REVOLVER. Bright 95% nickel finish, antique ivory grips numbered and matched by serial number to the barrel, cylinder and grip frame. Bore is very bright. This firearm has not seen many rounds. Minor pitting and tiny nickel flake at muzzle. The top strap is marked "Hopkins & Allen Mfg. Co" / XL 5 /Pat. Mar. 28,1871" Grips are unmarred and nicely aged. Short barrel production model, unusual for what I have seen. The action is as tight as a new firearm and locks up with no wiggle. All markings are clean and crisp.
Unique piece of history with 4 sets of matching numbers.
