RARE CIVIL WAR ERA INSCRIBED J.M. COOPER, PITTSBURGH, PA. 1st. MODEL D.A. PERCUSSION 31 CAL. POCKET REVOLVER SERIAL #12. 5 shot with 4” barrel stamped “MANFD. BY J.M. COOPER & CO. PITTSBURGH, PA.”. Left top barrel flat stamped with 1851, 1854 and 1859 patent dates. All original and matching serial number “12”. Excellent condition. 90% blue on barrel and cylinder. Frame and grip straps with the original grey patina. Extra nice grips with almost all the finish. Fine bore and chambers. Perfect working order. One of the first successful American Double Action revolvers. Only 400 1st Model Coopers made. Buttstrap neatly engraved in script “Look”.
