Description:
one of the scarcest military shotgun that the US purchased during WW2. Original and correct (except for recoil pad. S/N is 52xxx putting it to early 1942 manufacture 30" full choke barrel. Barrel and magazine tube show excellent and strong original Hi Luster Ithaca polish and blue. The forend is original with strong original finish and checkering no cracks. THe butt stock is original with no cracks has normal wear and finish loss, good checkering the aftermarket 50's vintage recoil pad I believe was add without cutting the stock as the LOP is 14 5/8 with a 3/4" inch recoil pad. An original or reproduction period butt plate would bring this back to original dimensions. The receiver shows normal fade to white and has picked up some patina over the years, no deep pits just typical dry storage freckles. The bore is crisp and bright with no defects. The serial numbers match between barrel and receiver. The R.L.B, flaming bomb and both P proofs are correct and strong with no sign of polish or refinish. The under side of the receiver shows stronger original blue, the trigger group shows strong blue the safety has training red and yellow on the respective sides.
