Description:
This Savage Model 24 "P" Series combination gun is in excellent all-original condition and it is apparent that it has lived an extremely easy life. The barrels retain 97%+ of the original factory gloss blue finish and the factory case colors on the receiver rate a conservative 95%+, they still show all the colors but aren't quite as vivid as when new. The bores in both the rifle and shotgun barrel are minty and bright. The rifle barrel still shows prominent and sharp rifling with no flaws, and the 20 gauge shotgun barrel is bright with no pitting, erosion, dents, or bulges. The hardwood stock set is also in excellent condition. The clear coat lacquered finish still shows 98% coverage, and both the forearm and butt stock are free from dents, cracks, or chipping. The friction-fit forearm is still as tight to the barrels as it was the day it left the factory. It is apparent that it was very seldom removed, if ever since bought new. The black plastic triggerguard and buttplate still look great and are both in excellent overall condition. The triggerguard looks like new, and the buttplate is nearly perfect except for one nick in the top left edge which you can see in the last picture. Everything works on this Savage 100% like the day it left the factory. The combination of .22 Magnum over 20 gauge is not encountered as frequently as the .22 long rifle over .410 gauge, and seldom do you find them this nice. This is a true survivor in a class of guns that were usually used hard and often. If you have been looking for an investment quality Savage Model 24, this "P" Series example would be an excellent choice.
