Payment Types Accepted: Visa,Master Card, Discover,Check Description: For sale, a beautifully done vintage custom sporter based off of a Remington 1903(Springfield) military action and chambered in .35 Whelen. This rifle was built with care and attention to detail from what we can see. The metal parts are all blued and show a nice glossy finish over a careful polish job. The barrel is 22 inches long and features an "ERA" adjustable rear sight and a ramp style front with a white bead. The bore is minty and bright with strong rifling. It shows no pitting, erosion, or defects of any kind. The action and barrel are glass bedded into the stock and it should be a very accurate rifle. The gunsmith that built this rifle used a 1917 Enfield trigger guard and floorplate instead of the 1903 Springfield type that would have been on the action. The 1917 trigger guard and floorplate was considered more attractive by some, and was milled rather than stamped like the late production 1903 Springfield parts. The checkered Monte Carlo style Walnut stock is very attractive and features a an ebony tip and some decorative black inlays in the stock below the chamber area. The checkering is still nice and crisp, and the stock is free from cracks or repairs. It is fitted with a Decelerator red recoil pad and the length of pull is 14 inches to the end of the pad. This beauty comes with a Bushnell "Scopechief" 1.5 to 6 power scope mounted on quick-release rings and Weaver style bases. The scope has nice optics free from scratches and and all the adjustments work properly. This rifle as it sits now with the scope weighs 9 pounds and 5 ounces total unloaded. If you have been looking for a classy vintage American sporter in a really cool caliber, this would be a perfect candidate.
