Description:
.45 cal, 5 inch octagon barrel, smooth bore, flat gray metal, walnut stock, brass furniture, German silver inlay with #5 on it, swivel style iron ram rod, circa 1830's

Tryon made a line of deringers, mostly round barreled and of smaller calibers, this pistol has the same basic design but is more"rugged" and utilitarian, probably made for the western trade, the #5 on the escutchen could be for the barrel length or a model.

Condition: bore is clean with very little oxidation, iron is smooth, brass is aged mustard color, wood is sound and untouches, excellent mechanically, excellent marks.
