This Gibbs is NOT a military surplus rifle, but was a commercial rifle from the start. The rifle is clean, tight, and in wonderful condition with an excellent bore for shooting the big .577/.450 round. On the left side of the barrel are the commercial proofs and the number 52. The right side of the barrel bears the stamp of a crown over 1 over B and the number 4713.

The barrel shows about 90% blue while the remaining blue on the receiver is patinating to brown. There are some fine scratches around the front sight which appear to have been from a slip-on front sight. Nothing really detracting, but noting it here.

The stock is of English walnut and while sound, it does show some handling marks as shown in the photos. Additional photos and closeups are available to serious parties.

All in all, this is a wonderful commercial rifle from a famous Bristol gunmaker, George Gibbs.

This is an antique and is FFL exempt. Price does not include shipping/insurance.

LOADING EQUIPMENT ALSO AVAILABLE

Additionally, the loading equipment for this rifle is available. Included is a set of Lyman dies, shell holder, and die set-up dummy cartridges.
