Alex Henry 450 BPE 3 1/4 Black Powder double rifle in very good original condition. C. 1876. 28" damascus barrels possibly rebrowned. Bores are good to very good. There is some pitting (though shiny) in both barrels for about 4" in front of chamber with the remainder being bright and shiny and devoid of pitting. The rear sight is a usuful replacement with a single leaf. The front sight is original. The top rib had been slotted thru the makers name and address (of all places) with a dovetail at some time and filled in and the makers address professionally re-engraved. With the exception of the makers N&A area the barrel rib is file cut. The rifle weighs - 8lbs. 3oz. LOP=14 1/4 to a steel butt plate. This rifle was purchased from Thad Scott many years ago. The locks are back action with rebounding hammers and in crisp condition. There is about 50% engraving in the classic Henry pattern. It also shoots well like all Henry's.
