Decent 1944 vintage Remington Rand 1911A1 s/n range 1,539,xxx puts manufacture to 1944. FJA inspected. It appears to reaming with original finishes. The Crossed Cannon stamp is present but weak and we believe it was one of many with a weak stamp. There is no signs of arsenal or aftermarket refinish. The gun shows honest use. There is a bright spot on the right side at the serial number, there are no signs of the serial number trying to be erased or altered . 8 rib main spring housing, grooved slide stop. HS marked barrel. The slide stop shows more blue than parkarized which we have encountered before, either it is a contract, original, or replacement take your pick and you can find someone to support the theory A nice example of the WW2 Remington Rand
