Description:
This is the first Egyptian AK rifle we have had in quite some time. This Maadi MAK-90 / AK-47 is in like-new condition and is 100% original, nothing has been changed or altered. These Egyptian AKs were imported into Knoxville Tn. by A.C.C. INT/Intrac 20 plus years ago and are quite rare/scarce. The Russians helped set up the AK production at the Maadi plant in Egypt, actually supplying most of the machinery and training the workers to build them. Because of this, these AKs are quite desirable and are considered as close to a Russian AK as you can get without actually being Russian. As you can see in the pictures this AK has Egyptian markings on the barrel trunnion and receiver that are unique to Maadi made AKs. Unlike many of the Chinese Norinco "MAK 90" rifles, it has a square cut receiver which means any standard AK furniture will fit it. It comes with the original laminated thumbhole stock set, an original 10 round magazine, the original sling, and tool/cleaning kit in the trap of the buttstock. The barrel has a thread protector tack-welded in place and a ground bayonet lug to conform to the importation laws that were in place when this AK was sent to the U.S. The bore is chrome lined and is in mint condition, as are all of the internals that show no wear or signs of being fired. This is certainly a quite scarce AK variant that is in "collector grade" condition and has proven to be quite a good investment. Comes with the original box with serial numbered end-label.
