EXTRA LONG, 30" OCTAGON BARREL, FULL MAGAZINE LIGHTNING MEDIUM FRAME RIFLE IN .38-40 CALIBER, MADE 1894! I've seen one extra long large frame model a number of years ago, but don't recall one of these in a medium frame, all correct with fine aged barrel blue with some edge dings on the octagon edge by the rear sight, mag tube with some blue but mostly dark mottled aged brown, receiver shows some very aged blue but is mainly gray/brown, looks like a slight hairline crack ahead of the loading gate that is minor, one receiver screw could use replacing, probably had a tang sight on at one time as the blue is still good on the upper tang, exc. barrel markings, fine and sharp rampant colt stamping in the left side of the receiver, fine+ stock and forearm, butt stock has slightly better than standard walnut, good checkering on the forend, exc. bore with sharp rifling is only a little dark, action locks tight when cocked (as often is not the case), original buckhorn rear sight with blade/bead front sight, incredibly rare Colt Lightning variation!
