Description:

Swedish Military HUSQVARNA 1887 Revolver in .22rf

Fantastic Well-Made Example of the Nagant Brothers

Here we present a fantastic example of a Swedish Model 1887 Revolver, made by Husqvarna circa 1898. This revolver’s design comes from Leon & Emile Nagant, two brothers who would go down in history for the Russian Model 1895, also known simply as the “Nagant”. Unlike the crude construction of the 1895, this 1887 is very high quality, showing in the smoothness of action and the meticulous numbering of virtually every part. Its original chambering was 7.5x22mmR. These were used by the Swedish military for a time, as well as issued to certain personnel deemed to need arms like those guarding state infrastructure: railways, telegraph, etc.

This is an example of one that likely came into the US via importation in the 1950s, and then was converted to .22 rimfire as the original ammunition would have been very hard to come by. Both the bore and the chambers are sleeved to accomplish this. The work is high quality, and allows the user to enjoy a superbly built European revolver for what it was meant.

Overall condition is near fine. 85% of the original blue finish remains. Markings are clear and legible. Serial numbers match. Wood grips have sharp checkering. The bore is well-rifled and shiny. The action is functional, though there is a small coil spring that would need to be replaced to make the gun cycle 100% of the time. The hammer attached firing pin has also come off and will be included for those of you who would repair this fine little revolver. It promises to be a good shooter.
