This Colt Bisley was manufactured in 1900 and has been reblued at some point in it's life some time ago, but is still a very attractive gun that is in excellent condition mechanically. This Bisley is still all matching, with all the original numbered parts matching. Most of the original Colt factory markings are still sharp and legible, and the gun shows very little minor "pin prick" pitting under the finish. The screws are all still nice and clean with no buggered slots, and all the edges are still nice and clean all the way around the gun. The bore in this Colt is very good, with just a tiny bit of "frosting" near the forcing cone with the remainder of the bore clean with sharp rifling. The cylinder bores are excellent, and show no defects. The grips on this Bisley are the originals and show a lot of wear. Interestingly, the underside of each grip has a name scratched in them that is hard to make out, and possibly a cattle brand looking symbol. This pistol was likely carried quite a bit but fired very little judging by the old refinish and worn grips, but excellent mechanical condition. Everything works exactly like it did when it left the Colt factory 117 years ago. The cylinder is "in time" and locks up great. The hammer has good tension on the mainspring, and the action is very smooth with a crisp trigger break. This Colt Bisley would make an excellent addition to any collection and it would make an excellent shooter. Very rarely do we see Bisleys that are this old and have such excellent mechanics.
