Description:
It is not often we have an antique (pre-1898) Model 92 Winchester. This one is in the 22xxx serial range which dates it to late 1892. Some previous owner cut 3/8 inches of the end of the barrel, probably in an effort to make it more accurate by "freshing-up" the rifling at the muzzle. Overall the 32-20 chambered rifle is in very good condition, is solid mechanically, and the action lock-up is tight and the action functions great. The bore is bright, with strong rifling. It retains 40-50% of its blue finish, with evidence of possibly being touched up many years ago. There are visible traces of case colors on the hammer and lever and no traces on the butt-plate. Overall a good old Winchester 92 that would make an excellent shooter. This is an antique rifle, FFL not required.
