WW2 U.S.M.C. SERIAL RANGE ROCK ISLAND U.S. MODEL 1903 SPRINGFIELD ARMORY RE-BUILD RIFLE DATED SEPT. 1940. Serial number 361370. Re-built at Springfield prior to WW2 with barrel stamped “S A/ORDNANCE BOMB/ 9-40” and stamped “C-S.A.A.” within a rectangular cartouche. Near mint with all the parkerized finish on metal and stock and hand guard with the original finish and showing little use. Perfect working order and mint bore. Looks unissued. Large number of Rock Island 1903”s in this serial range were Marine Corps issued. Springfield records list a rifle three numbers away as shipped to U.S.M.C. at Pearl Harbor.
