Marlin 1881 .45-70, 28" octagon bbl, v-notch rear sight, blade front sight, shiny bore, good rifling, Has "- MARLIN FIRE-ARMS CO., NEW-HAVEN, CT. U.S.A. -" stamped on the top of the barrel about half way to the muzzle, "45 Govt" is stamped on top of barrel just in front of the action, checkered wood butt stock and fore arm with metal cap, and metal butt plate. This is a nice rifle for your collection.
