Allen & Wheelock Sidehammer, LARGE FRAME, Navy Model Percussion Revolver...
Second Model Latch... serial #124, 36 caliber, 6 1/2” octagon barrel with a very good, partially bright, partially pitted bore. The metal surfaces have a mottled pewter-brown patina with pinprick pitting and light oxiation staining.
The cylinder has a nice roll-stamped forest scene.... The smooth walnut two-piece grips rate excellent with some light dings and dents.
The inside of the grips are correctly numbered to the revolver and “SHILO” INCISED in one grip... the backstrap was taped for a stock. All parts are matching and the gun times and locks nicely. A very respectable example at a livable price... $1,950.
