This is a nice revolver that has matching numbers on the frame and barrel but two different numbers on the cylinder/extractor/yoke assembly. The metal retains 85% plus of the original blued finish that has faded and freckled at the muzzle and along the projecting edges. There is a light turn-ring on the cylinder as well as some very faint plum-brown freckling along the exterior of the triggerguard bow, grip straps, and rear portion of the frame. The trigger and hammer have some muted original color case-hardening remaining with speckled dull gray fading on the balance. The revolver is Canadian property marked on the left side of the frame (with double arrow sale mark) and a partial “(crown)/11" property stamp is present on the toe of the butt along with an unobtrusive import stamp on the underside of the barrel (not visible with the cylinder in place). The checkered, diamond-center, S&W medallion grips are not numbered but do have a previous owner's name scratched on the inside (“ALDEN M L{?}") and have light-moderate wear and surface blemishes commensurate with field use. The lock-up is still tight and the mechanism functions flawlessly. This is a very nice Canadian issued .455 hand ejector in very good overall condition and would make a handsome addition to any collection.
