This is an 1876 rifle that I got 20 years ago from the collection of the great Chick Davis. It is a clean out-of-the-closet rifle that is chambered in 45-60, with a 28 inch full octagon barrel, and full magazine. The barrel has a very shootable bore with strong rifling. The action levers crisply, and functions well. The overall finish has turned to an even gray finish with hints of original blue finish showing through in places. It has a beautiful brass lifter block. The wood fits well, shows attractive grain and has the desirable cresent butt.
