Description:
This is a S&W pre-model 29, 5 screw great shape! mfg Jan 11th, 1957, so this might actually be first year of production. The gun has a factory letter that states this was originally a 4" barrel, but returned to the factory to have the 6.5 barrel installed. Letter signed by Roy Jinks himself from 2008. Gun is 98-99% condition, with minimal use. Please see our pictures of recoil shield and ejector rod to verify the limited wear. Original hinged black box has a repair on the lid, tools also, the original coke-bottle grips are in great shape as well.
These early guns in this shape are rare, so don't wait too long, serious collecors are always searching for these. This is one of the finest early guns we've seen in 35 years.
