Serial #459027. 90%+ AA (Augusta Arsenal) dark parkerizing over heavy sand blasted frame, slide, barrel, Dark parkerized guns were intentionally done for various war time uses. ie Commando forces. The sand blasting process in a few incidences removed the serial number, the arsenal then assigned a new number prefixed with an "X"; those guns are a favorite of collectors. 3 areas of light oxidation, see photos. Bare metal on leading edge of slide. Fine plastic grips are original arsenal parts (Keys plastic "K" in star marks on each panel). Parkerized barrel is marked with "P" and "HS" on lug. Bore is like a mirror, no pitting. The action is perfect and tight. RIA mark indicates addional reburbishing before these were offered to the public in the 50's and 60's., probably repalcing the hammer and slide stop. The hammer is a bright blue Remington Rand bammer, like those used by RIA in the General Officers Pistols (M15). Springfield armory inspector mark on left side of fame as is the "United States Property" mark. Ask questions (?). C&R/FFL. Buyer pays all shipping. $35 priority mail in the US.
