Description:
L.C. Smith Field Grade 16 Gauge Side-by-Side
RARE 32” BARRELS, GORGEOUS WOOD, TURNBULL COLORS

General Specs: LC Smith, Year 1926, 16 Gauge, 7lbs 4oz, SxS
Serial Number: FW88688

RARE!... Quite an over-used term in this collectible gun world isn’t it?  They made 38,650 or so L.C. Smith Field Grade 16ga. guns, so how can one be rare you might ask?  The answer lies in the 32” barrels that are so desirable in today’s shooting world.  THEY ONLY MADE 220 L.C. SMITH FIELD GRADE 16GA. GUNS WITH 32” BARRELS.  This Elsie, snFW88688 made in 1926, is one of the 220 made and has been fully restored and restocked with a very nice piece of European walnut to a LONG LENGTH OF PULL AT 15 ¼” TO A CHECKERED BUTT.  If you are a tall guy you could add a butt plate or pad and really get a gun that fits you.  The gun weighs 7 1/4lbs. with the long wood and barrels and the M/F chokes and excellent bores really make for a nice gun.  With RST spreader loads it would shoot like IC/M, or IC/F if you use the spreader in the right barrel only, the perfect pheasant chokes.  The new butt stock was done to perfection, with perfect inletting and wood to metal fit, fine 22 line per inch checkering, and a graceful checkered butt.  The Doug Turnbull case color is gorgeous, the mechanics are perfect, and there are no flaws in this gun.  It is gorgeous to look at and would make a great pheasant, waterfowl, dove, turkey, crow, or western upland gun for those that like the 16ga.  It would also be the ultimate sporting clays gun for those vintage shoots.  Just look at the photos and you will see a very affordable, custom stocked L.C. Smith at a very reasonable price.  You could not even buy the stock job for what we are selling the gun for!  Thanks for looking, and don’t let this one pass you by.
