Description:
L.C. Smith Specialty 16 Gauge SxS
FACTORY 98%, KILLER WOOD, LONG LOP

General Specs: LC Smith, Year 1937, 16 Gauge, 6lbs 5oz, Side-by-Side
Serial Number: 16115

This fine upland gun made by L.C. Smith (Hunter Arms) in 1937, sn16115, is ready to chase your favorite upland birds with real class.  This Elsie is in stunning, factory original, unmolested condition, with 98% vivid factory case color and blue.  Even the factory special order wood has the original oil finish, and has spectacular figure; far beyond any other L.C. Smith Specialty Grade you will see.  This is simply something you rarely see anymore, and for you tall guys, the LOP is 14 ½” to the factory butt plate from the rear position single selective trigger.  Were this a two-trigger gun the LOP would be 15 ½”, very long indeed for a vintage American side by side.  Examine the photos closely and you will also note that the engraving is more finely executed than most L.C. Smith Specialty Grade guns as well.  It is obvious that someone knowledgeable ordered this gun with these special touches.  From a shooter’s standpoint, this is one of those “magic wand” Elsies, one that weighs just 6 ¼ pounds and balances just perfect ¼” ahead of the hinge pin, even with the 28” barrels and long LOP stock. This gun is mechanically perfect as well, with a crisp and properly functioning single selective trigger, excellent screws, perfect mirror bores, barrels tight as new on hinge pin and breech face with the top lever well right of center.  With only 720 guns produced and likely less than 650 left on the planet, it is an investment quality gun that will increase in value as you enjoy its use.  With the growth of the L.C. Smith Collector’s Association and the competitive vintage shoots with the Parker Gun Collectors Association and the A.H. Fox Gun Collectors Association, the demand for fine Elsies has been on the rise.  We all know that increased demand equals rising prices.  Now is the time to invest in this fine collectible shotgun.  The photos of this gun will help you note the difference between the BEST OF THE BEST, and the usual well used L.C. Specialty guns you sometimes see for sale.  If you are looking for the best investment quality shotguns, you must first look at condition.  Nothing trumps high factory original condition. Second is highly desirable shooting characteristics and features.  This one has both!  Thanks for looking and don’t hesitate or she’ll be gone!
