Hopkins & Allen Top Break Hammerless Double Action Revolver
ABSOLUTELY UNIQUE & EXQUISITE
Here we present a Hopkins & Allen Hammerless Revolver, made circa 1914 in Norwich, Connecticut. Hopkins & Allen had its roots in the mid-to-late 19th Century, producing revolvers and other firearms under their own name, as well as producing all of the Merwin & Hulbert revolvers. These latter revolvers have been increasingly recognized for their unique design and high-quality manufacture. This 5-shot, .38 S&W revolver features a similar design to Smith & Wesson revolvers of the late 19th and early 20th Centuries. The top breaks open, activating the automatic ejector. This specimen features a very long 6 inch barrel for a relatively small and hammerless revolver, as compared to more standard sizes running around 3-4 inches.
The barrel address is “HOPKINS & ALLEN ARMS CO./NORWICH CT. U.S.A. PAT DEC 8 98”. The hard rubber grips are marked “H&A”. The gun is finished in nickel plate, with the trigger guard accented with blue.
The overall condition is near fine. The nickel finish is about 90% present. The markings are clear and legible. The serial numbers match. The original grips are fine. The bore is very good. The action is excellent. Here is a very nice and unique revolver for your collection!
