11mm BELGIAN Antique Double Action Revolver
1870s Belgian Double Action Centerfire Cartridge Revolver
Here we present an antique Belgian Double Action Revolver, made in Liege, Belgium, circa 1870. This revolver would have been intended to wear on the belt for self-defense or perhaps even police use. This 11mm Centerfire example bears quite a resemblance to the prolific Lefaucheux revolvers, which utilized the novel European pinfire cartridge. The barrel features some nice scroll engraving. The cylinder is Liege proofed.
The overall condition is very good. There are traces of original blue finish. The rest of the metal surfaces are dark and untouched with age. The grips are in good condition. The bore is well-rifled and clean. The action is functional, with the trigger return being a little sluggish. Here is a nice example of a European full-sized revolver.
