Description:
Hello..... I’m selling this firearm for a montana family who have had it for generations.... all original; only defect is a small dent on the forcing cone end of one cylinder which has pressed one of the chambers to out-of-round. The only other notable trait is that it had been period reblued; however it has aged to grey and plum..... the grips have clearly been varnished but I hesitate to try and remove to look for penciled serial number. The gun is all matching numbers. Good bore, strong rifling. Still in 44 rimfire configuration . Action indexes and locks up over each cylinder properly. Fully functional. Serial number early barrel address show it to be the earlier 1871 manufacture. We understand that a buyer will need to make a profit or investment and expect nothing near retail. Interestingly, a major seller of these guns sold one on their , only approx 30 digits higher than the serial number on this gun, and it sold for $6800. This price is very fair to all parties.
