Description:
PRE WW2 JAPANESE ARISAKA PEACE HEIWA SHIKI TYPE 38 BOLT ACTION TRAINING SMOOTHBORE RIFLE(NON FIRING). Circa 1920-30's made for blank firing training at mandatory weekly training sessions at all schools(usually two hours per week). Barrel loosely threaded as never intended for firing. Serial number "X97" indicative of non acceptance at government factory so no ID marks except for "Peace" type(3 characters-type/hei/wa)) on top of receiver. No Mum stamp at any time since never made by government arsenal. Most of these were sold to schools, etc for training reasons only hence the Japanese characters painted on right stock. Bolt all matching but different from other matching X97 number on other parts. Smoothbore with short chamber NOT intended for 7.7 cartridges. No cleaning rod. Rare training rifle with corresponding unknown factory stamps. NOT intended for firing any cartridge.
