WW2 SAVAGE NO.4 MK.1 * STAR .303 BRITISH ENFIELD SMLE RIFLE. Serial "0C511XX". One of approx one million rifles made by J. Stevens Arms Company River Factory in Chicopee, Mass. Meant for Lend Lease to Great Britain. All original arsenal finish with all original sights. Magazine a late replacement. British acceptance stamps at muzzle and crown proof at chamber. "U.S. Property" above chamber as well. Perfect working order. Crisp two groove rifling with mint bore. NO import marks. Stocks with usual period of use dings and scratched never been sanded. Gouge to left wrist not an issue. Original white paint rack number at left buttstock. "S" stamped on underside of wrist along with other various Brit proofs and broad arrow just behind trigger. Prime example and getting harder to find especially without import marks.
