Description:
WAR OF 1812 GEORGE III TOWER FLINTLOCK SEA SERVICE PISTOL. 19 ½” overall with 12” smoothbore .60 caliber barrel. All original and complete including the scarce belt hook which is usually missing having been removed during it’s service life. Lock marked forward with the GEORGE III Cypher “CROWN/G R” as well as the Royal Ordnance “CROWN/BROAD ARROW” stamp beneath the pan. Tail of lock marked “TOWER”. Walnut stock with Royal Storekeeper’s “BROAD ARROW” above the date “1800”. Initial “A.B” carved at left side of wrist. Very good overall with metal having the original un-cleaned dark patina and brass mounts nicely mellowed. Stock very good with small old repair at the tail of the lock plate. Overall shows better condition than these are usually found as the result of sea service use. Original ramrod.
