Willam Ford Matched Pair (Rare and Beautiful), Includes Classic Oak Leather Case.
This pair of William Ford 12 gauges side-by-side represent the best of the "bespoke" shotgun industry at the turn of the century in the United Kingdom. William Ford was a barrel maker; but, at the same time he built shotguns and rifles of very high quality in Birmingham, England. This pair of shotguns was probably built as "game" guns for a specific client as they have 26 Inch barrels and are both choked open bore. The guns are engraved with beautiful english scroll with finely checkered wood. In conversations with gun dealers that inspected these guns, the oak-leather case is probably original. The pair is of boxlock action with ejectors. There are drop points at the hand on each gun. They have consecutive serial numbers. They have Anson pushrod fasteners on splinter foreheads. The forend irons and action flats are jeweled. Since purchase I have added a pair of Briley 28 Gauge fitted tubes with changeable screw chokes (ONLY to #1 Barrel Assembly). Accessories include cleaning rod, brushes, mops, oil container and snap caps.
