Description:
Winchester 52 Sporter highly embellished Utah Commemorative bolt action rifle. This beautiful little sporter is custom throughout. The action is engraved in what I would call a Browning “Olympian” style with deep relief intricately cut game scenes on the action, trigger guard and grip cap; with heavy floral on the rest of the floor plate, bases, rings and butt plate. Even the bolt knob and screws have been hand engraved. The engraving work is stunning and quite detailed. The right rear of the receiver, by the word SAFE, is signed TJK which would indicate that this gun was engraved by master engraver Tommy J Kaye of Texas. Mr. Kaye, now deceased, was a highly respected master firearms engraver and he was a founding member of FEGA, Firearms Engravers Guild of America.
The stock is custom as well. It is configured more like a 52 C than a B and it has a rosewood forearm tip, a “C” style cheek piece, unique grip checkering and it has been glass bedded and nicely finished with a dark reddish walnut.
Again I don’t know who did the work on this gun but it is spectacular and I am pretty certain that it is a one-of-a-kind!
