Description:
This is a desirable Antique Special Order 1886 rifle, chambered in 45-70, with a 26 inch full octagon barrel, a button magazine, sling eyes and a cresent butt. The barrel has a good bore and shows the majority of its attractive deep blue finish. The action works well, and has turned to silvery plumb and shows some minor surface pitting on the right side. The wood has its appealing light color, fits well, and has areas that are a little shy at the upper tang. A seldom seen special order rifle in a great caliber.
