Description:
SOLD PENDING FUNDS: Colt 1st Generation Model 1851 Navy Commercial Percussion Revolver. This was manufactured in 1863 and is in .36 caliber with a 7.5" octagon barrel. The original finish is completely gone and it has turned a brown patina. The trigger guard, grip strap, and back strap are brass with a small amount of the original Silver plating remaining on the top of the back strap. The markings, Texas Navy scene on the cylinder, and barrel address are quite clear. The gun is all matching (cylinder, frame, trigger guard, and barrel. The barrel is in quite good condition with strong lands and grooves with some areas of corrosion. The mechanics are functioning correctly and the grips still have some of their original varnish. This comes in a Bill Shumate custom mahogany presentation case, with an original Colt powder flash, nipple wrench, Eley London ,cap tin, and bullet mould. This is a very original and complete example of an early Colt Percussion revolver. It is an Antique so consequently there is no paper work required.
