Description:
This Ruger Model 77RS is a real beauty. It was manufactured in 1980 but looks like it left the Ruger factory last week. It is chambered in the potent and flat shooting 7mm Remington Magnum cartridge. It is an RS model so it came from the factory with the excellent Ruger factory iron sights installed on the 24 inch barrel. The bore in this rifle is pristine and bright. The rifling has sharp lands and grooves and there is zero pitting or bore erosion. This vintage Ruger features the desirable tang safety, a feature Ruger changed on the Mark II Model 77 in 1991. The reciever has the integral milled scope bases that have proven to be as good as it gets for strength and zero-holding ability. The original factory gloss blue finish on this rifle is exceptional, rating 98% plus with no wear or scratches visible. The checkered American Walnut stock is in excellent shape as well, and only shows some very small handling/storage marks. As you can see in the pictures, there is a shallow and narrow scratch that runs above the trigger guard on the left side of the stock back to the checkering on the pistol grip. This could likely be steamed out. It is free from cracks or repairs and is fitted with a factory Ruger branded recoil pad with a length of pull of 13.75 inches to the end of the pad. This rifle comes with a vintage Bushnell Sportview 3 to 9 power scope mounted in Ruger factory rings. The scope's optics are still nice and clear, and the power adjusting ring as well as the windage and elevation adjustments all work perfectly. This Ruger 77RS also has a leather sling mounted up on quick detach sling swivels. This rifle is the whole package, and is ready to go for Whitetail Deer season. A quick trip to the range to zero the scope to your favorite 7mm Mag load is all it needs. This rifle has all of the sought-after early features that are in demand. If you have been looking for a vintage Ruger Model 77 RS that is good enough to be an investment as well as a hunting rifle you can use, this is it!
