Description:
You have heard the saying if this old gun could talk ? What story would it  tell?

?This  old Colt was born about 1858 Just befor the civil war which started in in 1861 and lasted for 4 years ending 1865. . The  mechanics are are very good on this 5 shot revolver has correct timing  with tight lock up  all serials match except the wedge  may have been battle field exchange  . the back strap  and under side  display about 70% silver plate has gone to orcach finish.   Barrel address is first type 2 line  new york.. The cylinder  shows  original pins  and nipples are all open . The cylinder scean is about 15% in places  this was left to exsposer to the elements    show moderate ti fine oxidation through out .  When you  go to full cock  the cone is tight  to cylinder so    no blow back when fired  with black powder. no smokless should be used in this old revolver.
?The  walnut wood grips appear original to this lovely peice  the left grip is  redish brown while  the right grip is dark  brown  as walnut   does with age.  . The over all patina to this old 1587 year old gun appears to be  a yellow brown patina  like maybe was in a smokey saloon or maybe a bingo hall. Upon inspection of the bore  it does not have any deep etch from black powder and the rifeling is sharp   it did have  rust   I cleaned   and cleaned an oiled. It looks good in there.   The screws look very good   I think are original and  are not all muscelled out. My opinion of this old guns   its seen a lot of   poor storage and cleaning  and then sat  a long time .   Its not been fired a whole lot as evidence of  Bore  is sharp  and action  is still very tight. . so thats the long of the short of it   circa  1858   did it see civil war duty  most likley >    i ship to the world   this is antique...... wire transfer is ok  shipping   $25.00  USA  48 states with proof of ID
