Description:
This highly decorated Merkel 304E 12ga features some of the finest deep relief game scene engraving and a second set of barrels. Proofed 1968. The 28" Bohler steel barrels feature a vent rib, ivory bead and bright bores and are engraved at the breech with game scenes and at the muzzle with scroll engraving. The 26" barrels have a vent rib and excellent bores. It comes with a factory Merkel single selective trigger. The LOP is 14 1/2" over an old english recoil pad. The Merkel 300 series sidelock action features a concealed release for the sidelocks and dual intercepting underlugs with the double Kersten cross bolting system. The stock is by Pachmayr and features the same rose and thistle pattern as found on the action bolsters. This shotgun is an example of the quality workmanship that Merkel was capable of in a bygone era.
