ANTIQUE German Folding Trigger PINFIRE Revolver
German Proofed Double Action Revolver Circa 1870
Here we present an antique Belgian Pinfire Revolver, made in Germany circa 1870. Casimir Lefaucheux patented the pinfire cartridge in 1835 and son Eugene designed the pistol. The pinfire cartridge was one of the first successful self-contained cartridges in history, and the pistol saw prolific use in Europe during the 19th century, even being adopted by some militaries and police.
The overall condition is good. The only mark on the gun is a small “Crown/U” German proof mark. The grips are in good shape. The bore has good rifling and is clean. The action is functional, though the trigger return spring is not functional.
