Description:
L.C. Smith Field .410 Gauge SxS
99% FACTORY CASE COLOR, 28”, AWESOME!

General Specs: LC Smith, Year 1931, .410 Gauge, 5lb 15oz, Side-by-Side
Serial Number: FW136638

There was a total of 2500 L.C. Smith Field Grade .410's made, only 1000 with the most desirable 28” barrels.  This gun, serial number FW136638 made in 1931 by Hunter Arms Co., is a near mint condition, factory original gun.  Most of the .410's being offered for sale are well worn, have short stocks, butt pads, etc. that make them more common.  FINDING AN L.C. SMITH .410 IN 99% UNTOUCHED CONDITION IS A RARE OPPORTUNITY, AND THE 28” BARRELS are a real bonus.  This fine Elsie is certainly one of the best examples remaining on the planet; even the jeweling on the breech face of the barrels is still intact and vivid.  Those choosing the small-bore guns as their passion choose from a minute pool of guns, as the .410 bore is a low production gun that is hard to find in high original condition.  In fact, of the prominent American makers, only Parker, Ithaca, and L.C. Smith made their shotguns in the diminutive .410.  Most are aware that the Parker fetches well over the $20,000 mark, and for some reason the Ithaca has a smaller following.  That leaves the L.C. Smith, America's only commercially successful sidelock action available in the .410 bore, as the most desirable and affordable of the American small bores.  The best guns for your collection and for investment are always going to be unaltered, high condition guns representing the best of its kind.  There is always a buyer for high condition, low production .410 American doubles.  With over 99% bold, vivid factory case color, and 99% factory original barrel blue, 98% factory trigger guard blue, excellent factory checkering, and all original factory wood this great little Elsie sure qualifies as an investment quality firearm.  You are unlikely to ever have the opportunity to buy a better example and the gun is priced to sell, so don’t hesitate on this one!  Thanks for looking at our fine guns.
