Payment Types Accepted: Description: Howdah Pistol 17-45 Double barrel Howdah Pistol, Percussion, 9” barrels, 16” Overall, .70 Caliber (approximately 14 gauge). These pistols were European made circa 1830-1850 for use in Africa and Asia (India) as backup guns for big game hunters, probably English or French, made with barrels having a pattern etched in the Steel Barrels, two back-action locks have tangs with floral patterns engraved in them. Stock appears to be English walnut with carved grips and a small stamped mark “MD" and a Crown on the wrist; engraved brass trigger guard with 2 triggers. The gold markings are still visible on top of the barrel and the last readable part is marked “DURR” in Gothic letters, very nice condition with very clean metal with virtually no corrosion. Stock is varnished and looks very attractive with a few dings, dents, etc and one barely noticeable hairline crack in the middle of the stock. Bores are clean and guns works fine mechanically. $1,375.00 (17-45) I take Visa/MasterCard, add 3%. Allow two weeks for all checks, whether bank, personal or certified to clear.
